“For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology” is a nonprofit organization, founded by Dean Kamen in 1989, dedicated to engaging youth with hands-on experience in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields. Today, there are thousands of FIRST robotics teams worldwide with students from K-12. FIRST releases a game video each year and teams across the world are prompted to build a robot that meets the competition's demands.
